Acts 16:25–26
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”
All the Doors
Beloved, there is power in praise! Paul and Silas were locked up, beaten, chained, and left in the darkest part of the prison. By every natural account, their story should have ended in despair. But the Word says, “And suddenly there was a great earthquake.” All the doors opened, and the chains fell off, not just for Paul and Silas, but for everyone around them. That’s what divine intervention looks like.
Intervention: God’s Love in Action
Sometimes life will pin us down. We find ourselves bound by circumstances, pain, heartache, or confusion. But intervention is not always about us being good enough, strong enough, or smart enough. Intervention is about God’s love. He steps in because He loves us. He sees us when we are down, broken, and suffering, and just like that He moves.
He may not come when you want Him, but I declare today, He’s always on time. That’s why I’ve made up my mind that no matter what, I’m going to praise His name!
Praise in the Middle of It
Paul and Silas didn’t wait until the doors swung open to praise God. They didn’t wait until their backs were healed or the chains were gone. They praised Him in the middle of it. That’s the kind of faith that shakes heaven. That’s the kind of praise that moves God to intervene.
Church, your release is on the way but don’t wait until the testimony is complete. Praise Him while you wait. Praise Him while the chains are still on your wrists. Praise Him while the night is still dark. Because when we get on one accord, when we sing the same tune and lift up the same prayer, God steps in with power that sets the captives free.
Still Standing
I’ve had some difficult days, but I made it through. Not because of my strength, but because the Lord’s hand is on me. And the same hand is on you. God is saying: Take notice of Me. Trust Me. Call on Me.
Some situations, yes, you can work yourself out of. But there are others where it takes divine intervention. And when God steps in, He doesn’t just set you free, He lifts you up. He doesn’t just move you out, He moves you higher.
A Call to Praise
So I encourage you today: Don’t wait. Don’t withhold your worship until you see the evidence. Praise Him right now. Because God’s love has already worked some things out for you. The doors are already creaking open. The chains are already loosening. The earthquake of your deliverance is already shaking the ground.
God loves you simply because He loves you. And when His children lift up their voices in unity, heaven responds. Doors open. Chains fall. Captives are set free.
Final Word
Jonahville, let’s be a people who praise in the midnight hour. Let’s believe that suddenly can happen at any moment. Let’s trust that God’s intervention is already on the way.
Keep standing. Keep praising. And watch God move.
