Divine Discussion Book Club Feature

By Jonahville AME Zion Church Women’s Ministry

There is something powerful that happens when women gather around a story that mirrors their own prayers.

This season, our Women’s Ministry is stepping into a deeper place of faith, resilience, and spiritual expectation as we begin our new book club journey with The Hannah Anointing by Michelle McClain-Walters. This is not just a book selection, it is a divine assignment.

Hannah’s story in Scripture (1 Samuel 1–2) is one of the most emotionally honest journeys in the Bible. She was a woman carrying silent pain, misunderstood by others, yet deeply known by God. Her tears were not weakness. They were worship. Her waiting was not wasted time. It was preparation. Her prayer was not casual. It was desperate, bold, and transformative.

That is why this book is so timely for us.

Many women know what it feels like to carry promises that have not yet manifested. We know what it means to pray for family, for healing, for restoration, for purpose, for open doors, and for peace in the middle of pressure. The Hannah Anointing speaks directly to that sacred space between prayer and fulfillment, the place where faith is refined.

This study will guide us to understand that:

• Barrenness is not the end of your story — it is often the birthplace of purpose.

• Delay does not mean denial.

• Deep anguish can become deep anointing.

• What we birth in prayer can change generations.

Hannah did not just receive a child. She birthed a prophet who shifted a nation. That is the kind of spiritual legacy we are exploring together, not just personal blessings, but God-sized impact.

As women of faith, we are learning to pray with expectation, surrender with trust, and stand with endurance. This book calls us higher, from frustration to faith, from tears to testimony, from waiting to worship.

Our Divine Discussion Book Club is more than reading; it is sisterhood, healing, and spiritual growth. When we come together, we bring our stories, our questions, our burdens, and our hopes. And in that space, God meets us.

If you have ever felt overlooked, delayed, stretched, or weary in well-doing, this study is for you. If you are believing God for something that only He can do, this study is for you. If you are ready to turn pain into power through prayer this study is for you.

Hannah teaches us that when a woman prays from her soul, heaven responds.

We invite every woman to join us as we walk through The Hannah Anointing together. Come ready to grow. Come ready to share. Come ready to believe again.

Your prayer has purpose.

Your waiting has meaning.

Your story is not over.
