On August 24th, the spirit of love, community, and fellowship filled the air at Jonahville AME Zion Church as we came together for our annual Family & Friends Day. Under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Mark A. Evans, we were reminded of the timeless truth that “God Will Take Care of You.”
The Power of the Word
Pastor Evans delivered a stirring and heartfelt message rooted in Matthew 6:30–33:
“If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? … But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
With these words, Pastor Evans reminded us that no matter what challenges we face—be it in our homes, our health, or our communities—our God is faithful. The theme, “God Will Take Care of You,” became more than just a sermon; it was a declaration of hope and reassurance that touched every heart in the sanctuary.
The Sound of Praise
The Jonahville Choir lifted their voices in harmony, filling the room with songs that stirred the soul and prepared us for worship. Their melodies were more than music; they were ministry—echoing the very power of God’s promises. Many guests later shared that the choir’s anthems became the soundtrack of the day, leaving lasting joy in their spirits.
A Ministry in Motion
Family & Friends Day is more than just an event; it’s a reflection of the entire Jonahville community working together. Our ministers stood strong, sharing their gifts and support throughout the service. The ushers, with warm smiles and open arms, made everyone feel welcomed as soon as they walked through the doors. The parking attendants provided guidance with patience and order, ensuring a smooth arrival for every family.
Feeding Body & Spirit
No Jonahville gathering would be complete without fellowship around the table. Behind the scenes, our cooks and servers poured love into every dish, serving meals that nourished both body and spirit. Their dedication reminded us that hospitality is itself a form of ministry—an act of service that strengthens the bonds of community.
A Grateful Community
To every guest, member, and supporter who made this day possible, thank you. Family & Friends Day was not just a success—it was a testimony. It showed what happens when the Body of Christ comes together in unity, each person using their gifts for the glory of God.
As we reflect on August 24th, let us carry forward the theme and Scripture: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33). Truly, God Will Take Care of You.
At Jonahville, we don’t just worship together—we live, love, and serve together. Truly, God’s glory dwells here.
