I Need Thee

Family, this one is hard to write. When everything feels like it’s falling apart, when life feels like it’s pressing down on every side, I whisper the old hymn, “I Need Thee, O I Need Thee.”
Sometimes I don’t even have the words, just tears, just silence, just a heavy heart. But I am listening to my Pastor and to my spiritual Sister. They remind me that God is still present even in the broken pieces, and that He is holding me when I can’t hold myself.
The Word tells us in Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” That is a promise I lean on when my strength fails.
At Jonahville, we are reminded that we are not alone. When one of us feels weak, the prayers of the righteous lift us. When one of us feels lost, the Spirit calls us back. And when one of us says, “I need Thee,” we are saying it together as one body in Christ.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers today. But I know this, God’s presence is still here. His power is still real. And as long as we cry out, He will answer.
So I join my Pastor, I join my Sister, I join my family at Jonahville and say: “I need Thee every hour, O bless me now my Savior, I come to Thee.”
