The Goodness of God: Never Forsaken, Always Victorious

At Jonahville, we stand on the promises of God. One that resounds in every service, in every prayer, in every testimony is this: “I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25).

This truth is not only scripture, it is our lived experience. Time and time again, God has shown His goodness to His people. When hardships come, when storms rise, when we walk through valleys of uncertainty, His hand has never left us. The righteous are never abandoned.

Never Forsaken

Jonahville knows this well: God has been our keeper. From one generation to another, His faithfulness continues. Though trials press, His mercy sustains. Though enemies rise, His love defends. We can boldly declare that the same God who parted the Red Sea still makes ways for us today.

Be of Good Cheer

Jesus told His disciples, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). And so, as a family of faith here at Jonahville, we choose to take heart. We will not be shaken by what we see. We will not be broken by what we feel. We will be of good cheer, knowing that our joy flows from the everlasting fountain of Christ.

Rejoice!

Rejoicing is our testimony. Rejoicing is our witness. Rejoicing is our strength. When the praises go up in Jonahville, they carry with them our confidence that God is still on the throne. We rejoice because His goodness has covered us, His grace has carried us, and His love has never let us go.

A Prayer for Jonahville

Today, we pause to lift prayers for our Pastor, Rev. Mark Evans, and the leadership of Jonahville. May God continue to grant wisdom, vision, and strength. May the Spirit of the Lord rest upon him as he leads this congregation forward in Kingdom purpose. We pray for covering over his household, protection over his health, and peace in every decision.

Lord, let Jonahville remain a house where the righteous are never forsaken, where Your name is glorified, and where rejoicing rises as a sweet offering before Your throne.

🙌🏾 Jonahville, be of good cheer. Rejoice! The goodness of God is our banner, our shield, and our song.
