🌿 When Blessings Fall on Those Who Wrong You

Jonahville Family,
Have you ever sat and watched someone who mistreated you walk into blessings? Maybe they lied on you, tried to destroy your name, or caused you pain, yet somehow, doors keep opening for them. It’s one of the hardest truths to accept: sometimes blessings seem to fall on the very ones who hurt us.
But the Word reminds us: “For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust” (Matthew 5:45, NKJV). God is not blind, nor is He unfair. His grace is abundant, His mercy deep, and His timing perfect.
🌸 The Test of Forgiveness
When we see others prosper who did us wrong, it can stir anger or confusion. But this is where God tests our hearts. Will we harbor bitterness, or will we forgive?
Jesus taught us to pray, “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” (Matthew 6:12). That means our blessings are tied to the way we release others. If we hold grudges, we hold ourselves hostage. Forgiveness isn’t about excusing the wrong , it’s about freeing ourselves to live in God’s peace.
✨ The Hidden Blessing
Sometimes the blessing you think belongs to them is actually a setup for you. God allows the rain to fall because He is working out a bigger story. Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, yet Joseph declared, “You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20).
So yes, they may have caused harm, but your destiny cannot be canceled by their deceit. What they meant for destruction, God is turning into a stepping stone.
💜 Jonahville, Choose Mercy
As a church family, let us not grow weary in well doing. “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). When we choose mercy, when we choose love, we prove that our faith is not shallow but rooted in Christ.
Jonahville, our calling is higher than revenge. Our witness is brighter than resentment. We are a Kingdom church with a Kingdom agenda and forgiveness is our weapon.
🙏🏽 Closing Prayer
Lord, give us hearts to forgive those who hurt us. Remind us that Your blessings are not withheld because of others’ actions. Teach us to walk in mercy, to release bitterness, and to trust that Your justice will prevail. Amen.
